Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When is packet pickup? 

A: Pre-race bib and T-shirt pickup will be available on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Road Runner Sports in Carlsbad ( 5617 Paseo Del Norte #100, Carlsbad, CA 92008), from 10 A.M. to 6 P.M. 

Q: Can I pick up someone else's race number?  

A: Yes, so long as you have a copy or picture of a viable ID for the person you're picking up for.  

Q: Will there be baggage check on race day?  

A: No, there will be no baggage check on race day.  

Q: Can I run with my kids in the Kids Mile? 

A: We'd like to keep the Kids Mile (6-12) to kids only, to be fair to all kids competing in the race. We'll have volunteers and Race Guards (raceguards.org) all along the course and running at the back of the race to make sure everyone gets back to the finish line safely. 

Q: Can I run with a stroller or my dog?  

A: Please, no strollers in any of the heats. The mile is a fast race, and we don't think it's safe on such a short, out-and-back course. You may run with your dog if you sign up for the dog mile, but no dogs are permitted in the other heats. 

Q: Can I run in multiple heats? 

A: Yes, so long as you're eligible for each heat's age group. You must register for each heat, however, to ensure an official result. 

Q: I'm a wheelchair athlete. Can I participate in the race?  

A: Yes, we can make accommodations for wheelchair athletes. Please email mark@encinitasmile.com so we can make safe arrangements.    

Q: If I'm unable to participate in the race, can I get a refund? 

A: All registrations are nonrefundable.
